Apple Sydney Opening Frenzy

Apple is a phenomena. 5000 crazy fans waited outside their store last night star struck by the dazzling product light-boxes that flanked the stores walls. Hundreds of uber-geek Apple staff taunted their public outside by chatting on their iPhones inside their virginal sanctuary. Chants, cheers, TV news press and citizen journalists packed George street in the CBD for the 5pm opening. many more fans were out of sight in the long queue which snaked around the city. Many were managed in a series of holding pens.

As a company if you can draw that kind of flock you must be some kind of messiah. Apple are strategically effective even when opening shops.
